The UN Mapper of the month - July 2022

The UN Mapper of the Month of July takes us to Indonesia! Yunita Sari from Jakarta is an experienced mapper who firmly believes in the usefulness of open data for disaster response. Yunita recently joined the UN Mappers effort in Libya, doing a fantastic job mapping buildings. Let's get to know her!

Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Nita. I am from Jakarta, Indonesia. I currently work at the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) in Indonesia.

How did you know about UN Mappers?
I learned about UN Mappers by participating in a mapathon, organized by Perkumpulan OpenStreetMap Indonesia in collaboration with UN Mappers, to support World peace through mapping buildings in the city of Tripoli, Libya.

When do you map?
I conduct mapping activities in my leisure time.

Do you enjoy mapping? Why?
My motivation for carrying out mapping is to contribute to disaster response, especially in affected areas. Furthermore, mapping results can reduce the risk of disasters in the future.

In which countries do you map the most?
